Wednesday 4th of July was the last official day of work, a personal “Independence Day”. Thursday 5th July, the first official day of future adventures. I woke up at a late, great 8:50 and do what I always do when I have time: drink three cups of “proper” English tea – milk, no sugar – before starting anything. Dave still has to work until Thursday 12th July so I’m only a little bit smug.
So now we’ve decided to give up the nine-to-five and travel around Europe, what are we going to travel in?
Neither of us have any experience of van living or van driving and the prospect of picking one that would best suit us very soon became an exercise in compromises and trade-offs.
And this is very aptly-titled because the decision to go for van life happened in one short moment, when a decision makes itself and you just know it won’t be unmade. And you remember it so well because moments like that don’t happen that often. But to go back to the beginning …
